Florence Meleo-Meyer es directora de Programas, Relaciones Globales y Educación para Profesionales del Centro de Mindfulness de la Universidad de Brown. Ha enseñado a profesores de MBSR y a formadores de profesores durante más de 20 años. Como directora del Instituto Oasis del Center for Mindfulness del centro médico de la Universidad de Massachusetts y líder del programa Train the Trainer, ha participado en la formación de miles de profesores MBSR de todo el mundo. Enseña cursos y retiros de Mindfulness Interpersonal en todo el mundo. Florence lleva más de 30 años enseñando meditación. Está certificada como profesora de MBSR y maestra de meditación Siddha Yoga. Ha estudiado en la India y en EE. UU. con maestros de meditación como S. Muktananda y S. Chidvilasananda. Es licenciada en Educación, Psicoterapia y Terapia Familiar.

Florence Meleo-Meyer, MS, MA, LMFT
Program Director, Global Relations and Professional Education
Florence serves as Global Ambassador to the MBSR Affiliates world-wide at the Mindfulness Center, Brown University and is inspired by the potential of MBSR to impact global health and well-being when taught by teachers trained with rigor, depth, and cultural sensitivity.

She has trained MBSR teachers and teacher trainers for over 20 years. As Director of Oasis Institute, for Professional Education and Training at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts’ Medical School, she engaged with and supported the development of thousands of MBSR teachers globally. Over many years, she directly trained MBSR teacher trainers, and was director of the Train the Trainer program. With equal focus on the refinement of teaching skills, attitudes and knowledge, the heart of her work attends to the cultivation of the deepest understanding of MBSR as a path of love, healing and transformation. She has been a leading contributor to the development of best practices for teacher training in the growing field of MBSR and MBIs.

For more than four decades, Florence has taught mindfulness and meditation to clinical populations, and to professionals in the fields of medicine, psychology, education and business. She has presented programs at Middlebury College, Ramapo College, Reed College, Assumption College, Drexel College of Medicine, General Mills, Eileen Fisher, and other organizations.

Having trained in MBSR directly with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD and Saki Santorelli, MA, EdD, she leads MBSR Insight retreats internationally and cultivates deeper understanding of the essence of MBSR within the non-dual experience of silent meditation practice while supporting the integration as a whole life approach.

She studied Siddha Meditation with meditation masters, S. Muktananda and S. Chidvilasananda in India and the US, and directed a Siddha meditation center for nine years. She has been a student of Insight meditation for over 20 years, and is a senior Insight Dialogue teacher, trained by Gregory Kramer, PhD. She leads Insight Dialogue meditation retreats in the US and abroad.

A licensed family therapist, she holds degrees in education and psychology.
